A GARDENING family from East Lound have struck gold again after impressing judges at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
Husband and wife team Barbara and Robin Adair run the Stonecrop Nursery along with their son, Robin, and their display of herbs, citrus and Mediterranean plants once again blew the competition away.
They scooped a gold medal award at the recent four day event - organised by the North of England Horticultural Society - a feat they have achieved in previous years.
“We must have been doing it for 15 years and we are very fortunate to have won it numerous times,” said Barbara.
“It’s one of the main horticultural shows in the north of England and all the leading nurseries exhibit there.
“There’s some stiff competition as you get people from all over the country, from Cornwall right up into Scotland.
“One of the judges came back and said the quality of the plants was outstanding. We are very pleased to win the gold.”
The green-fingered family also impressed with their first foray into the Royal Horticultural Society Cardiff Flower Show, held just before the Harrogate event, securing a silver award from judges for the same display.
“It’s a team effort and we all muck in,” added Barbara
